선재의 열처리는 주요하게 소둔,담금질,재질개선 등 적용영역이 있다. 선재 열처리는 현재 PC봉강(콘크리트 보강용 봉강)과 철근(냉간 압연) 등에 널리 쓰인다. PC봉강은 고강도 인성이 강하고 용접성이 좋은 특징을 갖고 있어 고가교량의 pile 철도의 침목 등 구조 재료로 많이 쓰인다. 또한 철근은 건축영역과 기초건설에 많이 쓰이며 수요가 날이 갈수록 늘어날 것으로 보인다.

Two chief application is PC steel bar (prestressed concrete steel bar) and screw thread steel (cold-rolled ribbed bar). PC steel bar has the features of high strength and toughness, low relaxation and good weld ability which is widely used in prestressed components like pipe pile, viaduct pier, railroad sleeper; screw thread steel is widely used in building field. With increasing investment of national infrastructure, both this two kinds of wire rod has great market prospect.
